What Does This Mean for Free Plan Users?

Historically, free plan users relied on our public IPFS gateway, which included rate limits, slower access speeds, and potential for reliability issues during high traffic periods.

Starting now, all free plan users—both new and existing—will have access to a dedicated gateway added to their account automatically. This means you can start using your dedicated gateway immediately, without needing to take any additional steps! Whether you’re a developer, hobbyist, or just exploring the possibilities of IPFS, this will greatly improve your experience.

Benefits of Dedicated IPFS Gateways

• No Rate Limits: Unlike public gateways, dedicated IPFS gateways offer unrestricted access with no rate or request limits, providing a smoother user experience.
• Faster Load Times: Built on Filebase's infrastructure, dedicated gateways ensure significantly faster load times for your pinned content.
• Enhanced Reliability: Dedicated gateways reduce the likelihood of downtime or slow access, offering improved consistency.
• Secure and Direct Access: Enjoy direct HTTP-based access to your files, enhancing your ability to share and manage data efficiently.

Bandwidth Limits

Your dedicated gateway comes with 5 GB of bandwidth—the same as your storage limit—so you can enjoy the benefits of a streamlined experience. While there are no restrictions on the number of requests or rate limits, please note that the 5 GB of bandwidth is part of your free plan allowance. Once this limit is reached, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan to continue using the gateway.

Custom Domain Names

Want to fully brand your dedicated gateway? Custom domain name support is available exclusively on our paid plans. By upgrading, you gain access to custom domains, expanded bandwidth, extra storage, and other premium features.

Our dedicated gateways are backed by the Filebase CDN, ensuring fast and reliable content delivery worldwide. Built on Filebase's industry-leading bare metal infrastructure, your content is delivered with top-tier speed and performance—even on our free plan. Content delivered through the Filebase CDN is up to 2x faster than using public IPFS gateways, making it an ideal solution for those looking to improve their content delivery.
