Upcoming changes to the Filebase platform
Today we are writing to tell you about upcoming changes to the Filebase platform.
After much deliberation, we have decided that effective October 15th, 2022, we will be removing our Skynet and Storj integrations permanently. Users of these integrations will need to download all of their files prior to the date referenced above.
Why are we making this change?
During routine operation of our services, we regularly collect and review various usage metrics. We have ultimately determined that our Skynet and Storj integrations suffer from low usage. As a result, we have decided to permanently remove Skynet and Storj from our platform.
Why now?
Earlier this year, we released our IPFS integration. Since this release, the usage of this integration and the growth of our platform have both surged tremendously, overshadowing usage patterns from some of our other integrations entirely. This has caused us to place tremendous focus on IPFS in order to support the large influx of new IPFS users. As a startup company, we must follow where the traction takes us.
We want to offer the highest level of service possible to our customers. Moving forward, Sia and IPFS will be our primary focus.
What does this mean for you?
You will be able to stay on your current storage plan until October 15th, 2022.
After this date, the integrations referenced above will be removed and the data uploaded using them will be deleted.
As always, if you have any questions about these upcoming changes, please feel free to email our team at: hello@filebase.com.
