Recapping Filebase at DCentral Miami
On November 28th and 29th, Filebase exhibited at DCentral Miami, a Web3 conference that brings together all aspects of the decentralized web, from infrastructure and protocols to DeFi and NFTs.
On November 28th and 29th, Filebase exhibited at DCentral Miami, a Web3 conference that brings together all aspects of the decentralized web, from infrastructure and protocols to DeFi and NFTs.
Along with having a booth location on the main exhibitor floor, Filebase’s CEO Joshua Noble gave a panel talk about decentralized storage, and we hosted a satellite event with our friends at thirdweb, VoxBox, and Unstoppable Domains.
The experience was nothing short of incredible, so we’ve recapped the highlights of the jam-packed 2 days in case you missed it!
Day 1
From the moment doors opened, the Filebase booth was impossible to miss. Complete with neon sign and packs of gummy bears, it was hard to walk by without stopping to learn more about decentralized storage and IPFS pinning.
We had some great conversations about what is decentralized storage, how IPFS pinning works, and the wide variety of use-cases for our platform. Our team loved educating everyone about the importance of decentralized storage in the Web3 ecosystem, and how we provide an easy on-ramp that abstracts away from the traditional difficulties of using decentralized storage, such as managing cryptocurrencies and running node operator software.
DeCloud: Decentralized Cloud & Storage
Our CEO Joshua Noble participated in a panel discussion on the DCentral Mainstage, titled "DeCloud: Decentralized Cloud and Storage", where he discussed what sparked the initial creation for Filebase and how users benefit from our platform being a layer-2 solution for storing data on networks like IPFS and Sia.
You can watch the full recording of the panel here.
Day 2
The second day of exhibiting at DCentral was equally as exciting as the first. We had more great conversations with everyone from NFT artists and collectors, to developers and engineers, to accountants or legal professionals. Despite who we talked to, there was one common trait among them all:
Everyone needs to store data and can benefit from the attributes of decentralized storage or geo-redundant IPFS pinning.
We had discussions about use-cases ranging from storing computer backups and family photos, to storing the metadata for launching a new NFT collection or storing DeFi platform data. The widespread ability for us to connect with and see potential for future collaboration with so many individuals and projects was nothing short of remarkable.
Proof of "Frens" - Satellite Event
We closed out DCentral with a private satellite event after the exhibition floor closed Tuesday afternoon. The event was called "Proof of Frens" and featured our "frens" at thirdweb, Unstoppable Domains, and VoxBox.
Personnel from each of the companies gave a short introduction to their platform, and attendees were encouraged to network and connect with members from each team and with one another. That way, everyone got to learn more about what each other is building and discuss different scenarios on how Filebase, thirdweb, Unstoppable Domains, and VoxBox can be utilized in conjunction with one another. We made lots of new "frens", ate some great food, and enjoyed the perfect Miami weather.
If you came and saw us at the Filebase booth or if you attended our Proof of "Frens" event, we'd love to connect further! You can find us on Twitter @Filebase, on our Discord server, or send us an email at hello@filebase.com.
